The Empact Showcase is a platform highlighting the power of young entrepreneurs within specific regions around the world and the important role that they play in solving some of the world's most pressing issues.

Empact Showcase Europe


The Empact Showcase Europe recognizes organizations in Europe started by young entrepreneurs who are age 35 and under, and whose annual revenues or operating budgets (for non-profits) are more than 75,000 euros.

The official Empact100 Europe List recognizes the top 100 of the companies within the Empact Showcase Europe and is determined by the Empact Academy.

 

Application Process


Applications for the 2014 Empact Showcase Europe will be open soon! There is no cost to apply.

Once applications open, here is how the process will work:

  1. Fill out the Empact Showcase Europe Application.  Make sure your contribution as a young entrepreneur is included & recognized!  By filling out page 2 of the application, your company is also in the running for top category recognition (see more information below).  There is no cost to submit your application.  
  2. Register for Empact Showcase Legacy Event.  Join your fellow entrepreneurs for 2.5 days of celebration, networking and legacy building sessions.  Registration will open in Winter 2013
  3. Announcement of Category Honorees.  The Empact100 list will be made public according to the timeline below.  Other Showcase Category honorees will be announced during the November Empact Legacy Event. 
  4. Attend Empact Legacy Event.  In early Spring 2014, all entrepreneurs in the Showcase arrive in Brussels fornetworking, celebration and legacy building.  


Criteria

  • 100% of the founders must be 35 years or younger as of January 3, 2014
  • Business must
    • Have over 75,000 euros in revenue for 2013 (operating budget for non-profits) 
    • Be located in Europe.

All applicants may be asked to verify the above criteria once an application has been submitted.

Public companies are not eligible.

How much does it cost to apply?

There is no cost to submit an application to the Empact Showcase.

I started my company in 2014.  Can I still apply?

The 2014 Empact Showcase Europe features companies that meet the revenue criteria by January 3, 2014.  If you started your business in 2014 and already meet the revenue criteria, congratulations and we look forward to you participating in the 2014 Showcase!

How are Showcase Category Honorees selected and when are they determined?

Top category honorees (including the Official Empact100 List) are determined by the Empact Academy.

The Official Empact100 List recognizes the top 100 companies within the Empact Showcase and is judged primarily by revenue, with additional factors such as number of employees, social impact, growth over the past year, and innovativeness taken into account.

Any company or entrepreneur in the Showcase who completes the full application is eligible for one or more of the following distinctions:

  • Best Founder's Story
  • Most Innovative
  • Most Disruptive
  • Largest Potential
  • Top Social Company
  • Top Female Founder
  • Top Tech Company
  • Top Advertising & Marketing Company

How the Empact Showcase category honorees are determined

Businesses meeting the minimum criteria in the Empact Showcase will be able to receive special recognition within a specific category.

 

History
 

2012
 
In 2012, the companies comprising the Empact Showcase contributed more than 8,000 jobs to the economy, and controlled almost $1.2 billion in revenue.  
 
Entrepreneurs in the 2012 Empact100 were honored in Washington, DC in September with a private tour of the White House and a ceremony at the US Chamber of Commerce, which included recognition by the White House.  Each Empact100 honoree received a letter from President Barack Obama, congratulating them for their success and honoring them for their achievements.  
 
The 2012 Empact100 list was brought to you by Empact, the Startup America Partnership, the US Chamber of Commerce and a number of other partners.
 
2011
 
In 2011, the inaugural list of companies was recognized in a ceremony at the White House for their achievements. The event was livestreamed on whitehouse.gov.  Combined, the 2011 Empact Showcase contributed over 2,700 jobs to the economy and controlled $374 million in revenue. Each Empact100 honoree received a letter from President Barack Obama, congratulating them for their success and honoring them for their achievements.
